My dog has only had one anal gland (sac) issue over the last 12 months
If your dog has only had one issue over the last 12 months and your vet hasn’t recommended any changes to their food, our food should be suitable for your dog.
My dog has recurrent issues with their anal glands
If your dog has recurrent issues with their anal glands, there may be something we can adjust in their food to help out. If this is the case, once you’ve created a profile for your dog, please let us know the following:
Your dog's details:
- Have you updated your dog’s current weight and body condition (underweight, ideal, overweight) in the last 2 months? If you’re not sure, you can let us know their current details here:
- What does your dog currently get fed per day (including dry food, wet food, treats and scraps)?
- Are there any ingredients your dog absolutely can’t have as we may need to bring in some new ones in order to provide better support (if we do, we’ll let you know)?
Regarding your dog's anal gland issues:
- When did this last happen/how often has it occurred?
- What are your dog’s faeces normally like (firm, well-formed, loose etc) and did you notice any change to them around the time of blockage? If your dog regularly has loose stools and hasn’t been treated for parasites like worms in a while, it might be worth talking to your vet or having a look at our flea, tick and worm range
- Did your dog need to go to the vet for any treatment?
- Has your vet ever made any recommendations?
- Does your dog ever scavenge (either at home or when out)?
If you’ve only had 1 or 2 orders from us, can you also please let us know:
- What food was your dog fed previously? Please include brand name and range
- How was the food introduced? Over how many days?
These answers will be passed straight over to our Food and Health Team so they can have a look at your dog's recipe.
