My dog has been on Tails.com for 4 weeks or less and has loose stools
We’re sorry to hear about your dog’s upset tummy. When changing food it can take around 4 weeks for a dog’s tummy to adjust and you may find that things improve on their own in time.
We’d always recommend gradually introducing your dog to their Tails.com recipe. You can see our top tips for how to do this here.
My dog has been enjoying their Tails.com meals for longer than 4 weeks and has loose stools
If your dog regularly has loose stools and hasn’t been treated for parasites like worms in a while, it’s worth talking to your vet or having a look at our flea, tick and worm range.
If your dog has been on their Tails.com recipe for a little while but is suffering with an upset tummy we’d be happy to take a look at their feeding plan.
So that we can do this, could you please let us know the following:
- What is your dog's current weight and condition?
- How many walks do they go on per day and how long are these?
- What do they currently get fed per day (including dry food, wet food, treats and scraps)
- How long have you noticed the loose stools for? Do they occur at any particular time of day?
Has your dog:
- Been treated for any other condition recently/been on any medication?
- Had a trip to the vet to check if it's not a symptom of a more serious condition (especially if ongoing rather than on/off)?
Does your dog:
- Ever scavenge?
- Have any allergies/intolerances?
If you’ve only had 2 or 3 orders from us can you also please let us know:
- What food was your dog fed previously? Please include brand name and range.
- How was the food introduced? Over how many days?
Our Food and Health Team will then have a look at your dog's recipe. We'll get back to you as quickly as possible but if you’re worried about your dog's current health, we'd recommend speaking to your vet as well.
