Recent research has highlighted that Fipronil may be harmful to freshwater ecosystems. This can happen when dogs treated with these medications come into contact with lakes, rivers or other bodies of water.
Currently, all major topical flea and tick treatments on the market have a similar impact on the environment. Because of this, we are actively exploring new formulas and hope to offer alternative, eco-friendly protection with minimal environmental impact in the future.
How you can help protect local wildlife
Until eco-friendly alternatives are available, you can significantly reduce the "wash-off effect" and protect freshwater habitats by following these simple steps:
Watch the water: Try to keep your dog out of ponds, lakes, rivers, and streams while they are using topical treatments.
Time your baths: Wait to bathe your dog until the very end of their monthly treatment cycle.
Coordinate the laundry: Similarly, try to wash your dog’s bedding only at the end of their treatment period.
