Why have you made this change?
Nutrition is crucial for puppy development, extending all the way to maturity. To ensure we consistently provide optimal support for growing dogs, we regularly review our kibble formulations against the latest nutritional research and expertise.
We recently completed a thorough review of our puppy nutrition, which coincided with the necessary reformulations of some kibbles due to a maize supply issue. This allowed our Nutrition Team to further enhance these kibbles for growing dogs as part of this process.
It’s important to note that our current puppy nutrition is precisely tailored and nutritionally balanced. We're simply taking this opportunity to further elevate our support for growing dogs, ensuring we remain at the forefront of canine nutrition.
Do I need to transition my puppy/young dog onto their new kibble?
Their new blend will still include some kibbles they’ve already been enjoying, so a full transition won’t be necessary for most pups.
We formulate all our puppy kibbles to be gentle on developing digestive systems. For pups with sensitive stomachs or picky eating habits, a slower transition can help them feel more comfortable during the change. So if you do have some of their previous kibble left, you could mix them together for a few days.
Their blend now only has one or two kibbles, when they used to have three, is that ok?
Yes. Depending on where your pup is in their development cycle and anything else you’ve told us about them, they might have a mixture of one, two or three kibbles.
No matter the number, you can rest assured your pup is getting everything they need to grow into a healthy adult.
I’m getting an error for my next order, why is that?
You might see this message in rare cases, often due to specific profile information that makes it difficult to create an appropriate blend for your dog.
If their profile displays this, please reach out to us, and we'll be happy to help you resolve it.
My puppy/young dog can’t have chicken, why can’t I exclude this as an ingredient?
Based on recommendations from our Nutrition and Veterinary Teams, all our puppy kibble blends have a chicken base. This allows us to optimise their nutritional intake during this critical phase of growth. If this is an ingredient your puppy can’t have, we’re not going to be the right brand for you right now. We’d love to see them back when they’re older (around 18 months), and we can create a tailored blend for their adult needs.
Can I change the flavour of my puppy/young dog’s kibble blend?
To ensure optimal nutrition during this vital growth phase, our Nutrition and Veterinary Teams have recommended a chicken base for all puppy kibble blends.
We understand pups all have their individual preferences, and we're actively working on ways to reintroduce some of their favourite flavours. This process requires careful and thorough planning to ensure their nutrition remains unaffected. Once they begin transitioning to adult kibbles, we'll be able to incorporate those favourite flavours directly into their blends.
In the meantime, if your puppy isn’t emptying their bowl please let us know, as we may be able to make helpful adjustments. Adding a small amount of wet food as a topper can also help provide daily variety for fussy eaters. You can add wet food on the "Feeding Plan" page on your account, or reach out to our team for help.
When will my puppy/young dog start to get adult kibbles?
When your puppy moves to adult food depends on their breed, as they all grow up at different speeds. As a general guide:
- Toy, small, and medium breeds – around 12 months
- Large and giant breeds – around 18 months
Just like with any life stage change, we'll make sure it's a gradual process, so your pup has time to get used to their new food. You can always see what's coming up on their "Feeding Plan" page.
