Our nutrition experts have been busy in the Tails.com kitchen working on some exciting updates to our kibble recipes, based on feedback from our community of dog owners.
This means you might notice changes to your dog’s kibble blend over the next few deliveries.
Here’s everything you need to know about the improvements we’re making.
1. Why does my dog’s food look different?
We’re always looking for ways to optimise every dog’s nutrition using the latest nutritional research. We’ve combined this with feedback from our wonderful community of dog owners to make a few small (but mighty) improvements.
As a result, you might notice changes in the size, shape, colour or smell of your dog’s kibble blend over the next few months.
Rest assured, their blend remains 100% tailored to their unique needs. This includes any health needs and ingredient preferences listed on their profile.
2. What exactly has changed in the kibble?
Our nutrition experts have been refining our kibble blends to make them even better.
The key improvements are:

Tastier than ever-> we’ve done our homework on what makes dogs’ tails wag, and improved the palatability of some of our kibbles, to help tempt even the fussiest eaters to tuck in. This includes:
- Boosting the fresh meat content and other delicious, natural ingredients in some of our blends.
- Increasing the antioxidant levels to support general health and wellbeing.

Easier to eat -> we’ve increased the variety of our kibble shapes and sizes to help more dogs enjoy their meals. This includes:
- New, smaller kibbles that will suit miniature breeds and senior dogs.
- New, lighter and crunchier large kibbles, for a texture dogs love
It’s all part of our mission to make mealtimes as happy and healthy as possible.
3. Has my dog’s tailored kibble blend changed?
If your dog's blend has been updated, we'll send you an email to let you know.
While these improvements are being rolled out to the majority of kibbles, because we offer over a million possible blends, these changes won’t affect every single dog. Especially those with specific health needs or ingredient exclusions.
If your dog's blend isn't included this time, we have more improvements planned – so stay tuned.
4. Why has my scoop setting changed?
You might see a scoop size change as some of our new kibble recipes are lighter and crunchier. We've made these changes to help your dog enjoy their meal times even more than they do already.
The menu card in your monthly box will note any changes in your dog’s portions.
You can also check your dog’s portions in your Online Dashboard any time.
5. Will these changes affect my dog?
These changes will be gradually introduced and have been carefully prepared to be gentle on digestion and small enough that your dog shouldn’t notice.
Every meal they enjoy is still 100% tailored to their unique needs. This includes any health needs and ingredient preferences on their profile.
The only change you might see in your dog? Enjoying their meals even more than usual!
6. What if my dog doesn’t seem to like the new kibble?
We’re confident your dog will love the improvements, but we know that some dogs can be sensitive to even the smallest change.
If you find that your dog isn't enjoying their food as much as they used to, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Our team is always here to help find a solution and make sure mealtime is a success.
7. Do I need to do anything differently when feeding my dog?
Nope! You can continue feeding your dog the personalised daily portions in their meal plan.
These changes are designed to be gentle on their digestion, so there’s no need to transition.
The only thing you might need to do is adjust your kibble scoop setting, if a change has been indicated on your menu card.
