Is my pet at risk of ticks?
Ticks are picked up in long grasses and woodlands throughout the country. Ticks can spread bacterial and viral infections to your pet e.g. Lyme disease.
You might already know if you're living in a high risk area, but if you're not sure, you can phone your local vet to find out.
Does your treatment subscription protect against ticks?
Yes, our Tails.com treatment subscription protects against ticks.
Tick treatments work by killing ticks when they feed on your pet. This does mean that they’ll attach before dying, typically within 24 to 48 hours.
Ideally we'd still recommend removing any ticks as soon as you see them but rest assured that they’ll die before they have a chance to spread any diseases. Dead ticks may remain attached even after death for a day or two.
I recently treated my pet for fleas, can I sign up to your monthly treatment?
In general, you should apply our tails.com flea and tick treatment at least 48 hours after any other topical treatment.
If your dog has had Frontline specifically:
If your dog has already had Frontline applied, we advise you to wait a further two weeks before applying our treatment as well, as most flea medication only needs to be applied every month.
In in doubt, we recommend speaking to your vet.
