Ticks: Risks and Protection
Is my pet at risk of ticks?
Yes, ticks are common in long grass and woodlands across the country. They can spread serious bacterial and viral infections, such as Lyme disease. If you aren't sure if you live in a high-risk area, we recommend calling your local vet for advice.
Does the Tails.com Treatment protect against ticks?
Yes, our treatment provides full tick protection.
How it works: The treatment kills ticks after they attach and begin to feed on your pet, typically within 24 to 48 hours. Because they die quickly, they won't have time to spread diseases.
Dead ticks may remain attached for a day or two, so we still recommend safely removing any ticks manually as soon as you spot them.
Switching to Tails.com Treatments
I recently treated my pet for fleas. Can I sign up?
Yes! However, to keep your pet safe, you must space out the treatments:
General Rule: Wait at least 48 hours after applying any other topical flea/tick treatment before using your Tails.com treatment
If you recently used Frontline: Please wait two weeks after their last Frontline dose before applying our treatment.
If you are ever unsure about product spacing, please consult your local vet.
