My flea treatment looks solid or frozen
Don't worry! This can happen when our parcels get a little cold during transit, but there's nothing wrong with the treatment once it's warmed back up again.
Why does this happen?
Our spot-on treatments use a specialised carrier liquid designed to safely dissolve the active ingredients and help them absorb through your pet's skin barrier.
On its own, this carrier liquid has a relatively high freezing point of 18°C. When mixed with our active ingredients, that freezing point drops to 14°C. What this means that if the pipette sits in temperatures below 14°C for a prolonged period, it naturally solidifies into a crystal or gel-like state.
How to warm the treatment up safely
To return the treatment to its normal liquid state, follow these simple steps:
Check the cap: Ensure the cap is securely fastened back onto the pipette.
Find a warm spot: Place the pipette in a safe spot at room temperature (around 18°C to 21°C). Make sure it is safely out of reach of children and pets.
Give it time: Leave it to warm up for at least an hour. In very cold weather, it can sometimes take up to 24 hours to fully liquefy.
Shake gently: Give the pipette a gentle shake every now and then to help the thawing process along—just double-check that the cap is firmly on first!
Once the liquid is completely clear and fluid again, it is 100% ready to use on your pet
