I'm still seeing fleas after using the treatment
The products we use are extremely efficient at killing fleas quickly (within 48 hours). The most likely reason that you're still seeing fleas is because most fleas live in your home environment - only 5% of them actually make their home on your pet.
These environmental fleas will continue to hatch and jump onto your pet and die even after you applied the initial treatment. It might be that the product was applied largely on the coat rather than your pet's skin, or not all of the dose was applied, or that the product was washed off soon after application. If any of this happens your pet may not have full protection for the whole month ahead.
These environmental fleas will keep hatching and jump onto your pet, but will still die if the initial treatment has been applied. If you stick with the treatment schedule, you'll be able to get rid of all the fleas in your home.
Tips
- You need to treat all the pets in your home, treating just one won't help as all pets can act as a host for the parasites
- You need to regularly vacuum to remove the flea larvae from your carpets and furnishings as well as your pet's bedding
- Wash your pet's bedding on a high temperature and only with very mild detergents
